At a recent Board of Directors meeting Darrell Edwards, the Executive Director of the agency along with Allen Couch the Human Resources Director announced their pending retirement. Both men will vacate their positions on July 28th, 2023. This date is being announced at this time in order to implement a succession plan for both positions alleviating stress to the agency by having two senior management positions vacant.
Mr. Edwards has served Kids Central for nineteen years having been hired from Healthy Families Florida in 2004. The agency underwent a complete overhaul including a name change and a restructure of the Board, operation policies and procedures, management structure, and operating philosophies. Mr. Edwards worked as an executive professional for Boys and Girls Clubs all over the Southern United States for twenty-nine years. Mr. Edwards was also an executive professional for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Oklahoma City. Mr. Edwards and his wife Yvonne live in Norton and have five children.
Mr. Couch has worked for Kids Central for seven years. Prior to his employment with Kids Central he worked for Pay-Less Grocers in Coeburn. Mr. Couch has been associated with youth sports for many years and is currently the District Administrator for Little League Baseball. Mr. Couch is married to Margret Couch residing in Coeburn and they have one daughter.
Kids Central, Inc. will be accepting applications for both positions beginning October 1st, 2022. Candidates will be notified of receipt of application and resume package. Interviews are scheduled to begin in January 2023.
